About
One engineer, a pen name, and a rubric.
I am a software engineer. I work a full-time 9-to-5, and I write here under a pen name. The name is a mask, not a character: everything on this site happened to the actual person typing it.
What I am not
Not a coach. Not a psychologist. Not a productivity guru. I hold no credential in attention, focus, or wellbeing, and I will not write as if I do. Nothing here is medical or psychological advice, and this site does not make health claims.
Why the pen name
It separates this from my employment. It does not license invented experience: every first-person claim here is true of me. The tests are built so you do not have to take that on faith.
How the tests work
- Thirty days of ordinary use, on the tier I actually paid for.
- Scoring rubric written and published before day one. Changing it voids the test.
- Dated screenshots and a usage log, including the days I skipped.
- At least one honest negative finding, every time.
How this site makes money
Some links to tools are affiliate links, disclosed on every post that carries one and marked rel="sponsored" in the markup. Commission never affects a score.
Corrections
If a number here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it in place with a dated note rather than quietly editing it. A corrected post carries the date in its provenance panel, so you can see that it changed.
Where to start
The 30-day tests are the reason this site exists. The data posts come with their scripts, and the archive has everything.
